Since the Historic Thorp Grist Mill was built in 1881, it has remained an important part of the custom, culture, and prosperity of Thorp, Washington. The mill provided flour and jobs for many of the people settling the area in the 1800s, and remained in use only until recently. Though the mill is no longer working, its history is being preserved with the building, and still remains an important part of the community today.
